The CDTS Kolkata has a Crime Museum which was established in the year 1955-56 under the guidance and supervision of Late Dr. P. Ghosal, IPS (Retd. Dy. Commissioner of Kolkata Police), who happened to be one of the most distinguished and famous criminologists of India. The Museum has a rare  collection  of articles,  documents and items of criminological and  historical  Importance. The Museum conserves various weapons of offence, arms, bombs, spurious drugs, forged currency notes, coins, spurious spices, perfumeries etc. of exceptional nature.

The Crime Museum  is  also   enriched   with   personal  collections of some police Officers of British era. It holds great significance in the Institute, as the  trainees’ participating in different courses from across  the   country,  as well   as from  abroad, by visiting the Museum, can enrich their knowledge  about the   evolutionary   aspect   related  to  criminology,  forensic   science and    advanced   investigation.   There is a proposal to renovate, modernise and upgrade the Crime Museum and boost it to an even greater height so as to make a  prototype of its kind.
